My Thoughts
Deadly Pursuit by Misty Evans had all of the elements that I
love about romantic suspense novels. It had a lot of action and suspense with
just the right touch of romance.
It’s just filled with so many unexpected twists and
spine-tingling events as the agents raced against time to find Emilio. The descriptions were so detailed and powerful
that I could only imagine the tension building around the case as the agents
developed a plan of action. Evans also
did an excellent job of portraying the whirlwind of emotions surrounding Celina
as she was a pawn on Emilio’s chessboard. The mind games that Emilio played and
the events that unfolded were just unnerving, and I remained on the edge of my
seat as I anticipated what the outcome of Emilio’s revenge would be.
The romantic elements were nicely interwoven throughout
Deadly Pursuit. Celina and Cooper were definitely attracted to one another. Did
they act on their feelings?? Well, let me just say, I liked how Cooper tried to
keep his mind in the game as an experienced agent, while Celina was portrayed
as a rookie who liked to mix business with pleasure.
This is the second romantic suspense novel that I’ve read by
Misty Evans. As was true with The Blood Code, Deadly Pursuit is a well-written
book with well-developed characters, and it’s a must read for romantic suspense
fanatics.
Rating 4.5/5
