Book summary
Chicago assistant
state's attorney Zac Hennings just got handed a political hot potato: keeping
the convicted murderer in a high-profile case behind bars. He's up
against his most formidable—and alluring—adversary. First-year law student Emma
Sinclair is passionately fighting to free her brother. But she needs the
take-no-prisoners prosecutor's help.
Caught between
attraction and letting a killer go free, Zac walks a tightrope. Until evidence
surfaces that the real culprit's still out there. With his career and
Emma's life on the line, Zac races to right a terrible wrong. Refusing to back
down, he'll bring a lawbreaker to justice--or die trying.
My Thoughts
Wow, I didn't see that ending coming! There was never a dull moment in The Prosecutor by Adrienne Giordano. It's a phenomenal romantic suspense novel that's heavy on suspense with just enough romance. There were so many twists and turns, and I was surprised to discover the truth behind Chelsea's murder. There was a well developed cast of characters. Including a family of lawyers who were pitted against each other on opposite sides of the argument for and against Brian's freedom. Giordano took the definition of a competitive family to a whole new level with Zac, the prosecutor, tasked with making this case go away, and Penny, his sister, as the defense attorney. I loved Emma's unrelenting character who'd stop at nothing to get what she wanted as she found herself in one disturbing situation after another. As for Emma and Brian's mother, she was skillfully depicted as a woman broken from experiencing a series of disheartening events. And then there's that added element of the danger zone as chemistry between the defendant's sister and the prosecutor began to heat up. There were just so many twists, twisted characters, and boundaries crossed that the outcome was an absolute surprise.
So what's my final verdict regarding The Prosecutor? It's a page turner--a must read that will keep you in suspense until the very end. I am definitely looking forward to reading The Defender by Adrienne Giordano, which is scheduled to be released in June of 2014.

Well said! Loved the unexpected but appropriate ending and loved, loved, love the interaction between Zac and Penny. I am looking forward to her book. There has to be a book for Penny. The way Emma fought for her brother was awesome!
