Book Summary from Goodreads

Six months after concert pianist Aslyn Jericho survives an attack at the hands of an obsessed fan, she is still trying to resume a normal life, despite the paralyzing fears that have stolen her ability to play and perform. Enter her gorgeous and mysterious neighbor with news that threatens to send her spiraling back into her nightmares. Her stalker has returned. And he wants Aslyn.

Months after security specialist Chayot Gray’s darkest secret was exposed to the world, he’s struggling to cope with the fallout. Shame and guilt threaten to consume him, and he longs for the anonymous, numb existence he’s known for two decades. Then he discovers a masked figure lurking outside his neighbor’s home. The pain-filled shadows darkening Aslyn’s eyes call to him, and her loveliness stirs a desire he didn’t know existed. Now Chay must conquer his inner-demons in order to save her from a madman determined to finish the job he started

MY THOUGHTS

Secrets and Sins: Chayot by Naima Simone is a novel filled with heated passion and chilling suspense. Surprisingly, this novel was better than I expected. Aslyn’s dismal situation was set-up early on—there was a psychopath in the shadows terrorizing her. The passionate moments were well-placed, never letting the reader lose sight of the mystery behind Aslyn’s stalker. In the beginning, Aslyn is attacked, and after she recovers she moves next to Chayot who has a dark past. Soon, she is faced with another stalker and there are no clear-cut clues as to who it is. As she's going through the ordeal with a stalker the second time around Chay is there to protect heractually he was there for her in more ways than one. Some of the character depictions made me suspicious of who the culprit could be, but the answers to the mystery weren’t that obvious. I love how clues were added that caused me to make false assumptions about who the guilty party was. There were shocking twists along the way and the conclusion—well… Let me end by simply saying that Simone absolutely did a great job of keeping me engrossed in the story and oblivious of the outcome until the very end.

If you love romantic suspense novels with a high heat level and spine-tingling suspense, you’ll definitely want to read Secrets and Sins: Chayot.

Rating 4/5

I received an e-arc from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
