Book Summary

While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet….
A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and
leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track
the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options.
Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange
bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?
Rating 4.5/5
I received an ARC of Blood Games from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Are you looking for an urban fantasy novel with vampires,
magic, murder, and mayhem along with a little bit of quirky humor on the side?
Well Blood Games book 10 in the Chicagoland Vampires (CV)
series just might be that book for you. Blood Games is the first book that I've read from the CV series but I can assure you that it won’t be my last. I am
looking forward to finding out how this long standing series started and how Merit evolved into a kick-ass heroine with a quirky sense of humor. I just
loved her dedication to her role without caring who she offended.
In Blood Games Merit maintains her position in the
Cadogan House as sentinel and her job is to keep Ethan, Master of the house/her boyfriend, safe. Well the danger starts early on and the relationships that vampires have formed with humans are strained. An unknown murderer was sweeping through
the city. And Blood Games quickly became a page-turner as questions arose as to
who the murderer was and the motive behind it.
Ethan sometimes carries his ego on his shoulder and can
be a little moody at times, but he is still a likable character. He struggled
with accepting Merit's position in the house and had her best interest at the
forefront of his mind. But he also has a secret that he is keeping from her in
this installment. So as you can imagine the tension between them is flying
high.
Although the gist of the story was clear and there were plenty of vivid details, it’s a good idea to either start from the beginning of the series, or—if you are like me and want to know what’s happening in the latest installment—read Blood Games first then go back and start at the beginning to discover what you've missed. You simply won’t want to miss one second of this amazing series.
